Ivy was the daughter of James and Maude Horder. Ted, as he was known, joined the A.I.F. in 1916 with brother James and served in France. He was gassed. He was with the Third Battalion as a private and received his discharge as termination of enlistment 28 Aug, 1919 after service of 3 years and 193 days of which he spent 3 years 116 days abroad.

He returned home and later purchased the property "Woodcourt" 15 miles west of Moree. Like the other members of the family he was a very keen horseman and had an excellent team of Clydesdales, which he used for his farming activities as well as doing some carrying. He was also keenly interested in racing and did quite a bit of amateur race riding. He also acquired some good race horses of his own. Ted and Ivy in 1935 purchased a small property on the Manilla Road near Tamworth, leaving son Des in charge of Woodcourt. He eventually sold the Tamworth property and retired to live in Sydney where he remained till his death 16 Jul, 1969. Ivy died 8 Jun, 1982 in Moree.
