Second child of AARON and ETHEL.

Laura married Francis Hector Norman Joseph Patricks in 1930. Frank worked in a business in Armidale where Pidgeon's Newsagency and the chemist's next door and rose to be manager. When the business was sold and the premises were divided, Frank became manager off Pidgeons. In 1948 he, in partnership with a Mr.Kelly, purchased a business and in 1949 bought his partner's share, and the shop still trades as Kelly and Patricks.

Frank and Laura had six children;

Laura followed the family tradition of being involved in sport and was a hockey player starting her career at High School about 1923 in Armidale. She represented New England in 1930, 1932, 1934, and was selected to play for Australia in Japan in 1939 but was unable to go. The team did not go in the end because of the advent of World War 2.

She always played Centre Forward and an extract from the Armidale Express 6 Jun, 1932 states "Centre, Mrs. Patricks is very tricky with the ball, has pace, passes forward to either side with accuracy. A very experienced player". She was also manageress of New England teams on numerous occasions after her playing days were over. She was foundation assistant secretary of the New England Womens Hockey Association, formed on 7 Apr, 1930.
