DAVID BURLING

Seventh Child of ALLAN and MARY.

Seventh child of Allan, David was born 10 Aug, 1867 at Muswellbrook and married Ellen M. Richards (Clara) in 1889. She was born 28 Mar, 1865. They had two sons and one daughter;

• Clarence A.D.: born 30 Jun, 1889;

• George William: born 1891

• Gladys Lillian: born 11 Aug, 1896.

The family did reside in Tamworth for a number of years but little is known about this period of their lives. They then went to Roebuck in Western Australia for a time and then to Perth where their daughter met her future husband. Evidently they returned to Sydney after Gladys' wedding and then moved to Armidale for a short time where David and his brother Harry (as Henry was known) opened and ran a picture theatre. They then returned to Sydney, living at Bellevue Hill and assisted Gladys and her husband run the Majestic Theatre at Redfern.
