Fourth child of WILLIAM and MARGARET.

George married Mary Magdalene, the daughter of Ralph and Margaret Clough (nee O'Farrell) 16 Dec, 1933 at Warialda and they had two children:

both at Warialda. Prior to World War 2, George worked in the rural industry as a station hand, shearer and labourer. On 17 Dec, 1941 he joined the Citizen Military Forces and on 22 Nov, 1944 he joined the A.I.F.. He went to New Guinea and served there for 10 months and was discharged on 19 Dec, 1945.

Following his discharge he returned to Warialda, where he worked as a rabbiter and a station hand before joining the Yallaroi Shire as a labourer and then Noxious Weeds Inspector till 1953, when he moved to Tamworth. Here he did temporary work for twelve months, then he joined the Tamworth City Council, working at the Tamworth Power Station till June 1956, when he joined the Electricity Commission until his death 22 Dec, 1961.

In his younger days he was well known for his ability on the football field, many people believing that had he had the opportunity he would have gone to much greater heights.
