THE BURLING FAMILY HISTORY

SIXTH CHILD OF JAMES.

Ron married Vashti Lucy, second daughter of the late Bill and Vera Duncombe 3 Jun, 1958 at Moree. Vashti was born at Moree 4 Mar, 1937. Like the rest of the family Ron was a keen sportsman, playing cricket and tennis and was an office bearer and committee man in both clubs. He was a big man and as a batsman was known for his big hitting, hence his nickname, "Powerhouse".

He joined the Boomi Pistol Club when it was formed and was an office bearer at the time of his death on 23 Sep, 1990, following an illness. He completed his education at Barker College in Sydney and returned to the family property. In 1968 he took over part of the property when James retired; he later sold his block to his nephew, Grahame Morgan and went truck driving.

Ron and Vashti had two sons, both born at Moree:

• David Eric: born 26 Oct, 1960; and

• Charles Ronald: 13 Mar, 1964.
