THE BURLING FAMILY HISTORY

Third child of Wilfred.

Peter John: married Meryl Joy, elder daughter of the late Wallace and Fay Birrell at Tamworth on 6 Jan, 1977.
She was born 5 Aug, 1954. Peter attended school at Boomi, Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School, Bingara High and Inverell High then one year at University of New England. The course he had hoped to do did not eventuate and he left.

He joined National Cash Registers and trained as a technician with that firm. He then did freelance work as a video and TV technician and studied computers and is now principal of Bithramere Computer Services at Tamworth. Meryl is a primary teacher with the Education Department. They had three children, all born in Tamworth:

• Stephen John: born 16 Oct, 1980 and drowned in unusual circumstances 30 Oct, 1982;

• James Andrew John: born 4 Apr, 1984; and

• Olivia Joy: born 5 Jan, 1987.
